

Chief Information Officer and Head of Technology & Operations for Global Wealth and Investment Management, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
MARK ALEXANDER is Chief Information Officer, Head of Technology and Operations for the Global Wealth and Investment Management (“GWIM”) business at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and a member of the GWIM Executive Committee.
In addition to running GWIM Technology & Operations, Alexander also ran the Broadcort Clearing business in 2009. Alexander was previously head of Global Operations for Merrill Lynch, responsible for worldwide operations and client services for Global Markets and Global Wealth Management (“GWM”). Prior to that, he was head of Business Infrastructure and Controls for GWM, responsible for global operations, client services, technology, operational risk management and divisional governance activities, as well as the Direct Division, which catered to online clients and those with less than $250,000 in assets. Alexander was also head of GWM Operations and Client Services. Prior to joining GWM in late 2004, Alexander spent over 13 years in Global Markets, holding Operations leadership positions based in New York and London, including head of Global Markets Operations.
Alexander joined Merrill Lynch in 1991 after working at Deloitte & Touche for seven years, where he was a Manager. His areas of focus were auditing and consulting engagements for financial services companies, including Merrill Lynch, Kidder Peabody, Drexel Burnham Lambert, Fidelity and Instinet. Alexander is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), holds an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and is licensed with FINRA in Series 7, 24, 27 and 63.
Alexander currently serves as a director on the DTCC Board, Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Executive Committee and Compensation/Human Resources Committee. He has previously served on the boards of Euroclear plc, LCH.Clearnet, the European Securities Clearing Corporation, the Government Securities Clearing Corporation and the Participants’ Trust Company, where he was Chairman in 1996/1997. Alexander has been active in various industry associations, including the Operations Advisory Steering Committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Securities Industry Association STP Executive Committee, European Securities Forum, CREST Strategic Advisory Committee, DTCC’s Operations and Planning Committees, and the Mortgage-Backed Securities (“MBS”) and Government Securities Operations Committees of the Bond Markets Association, where he was Chairman of the MBS Operations Committee and a member of the MBS Executive Committee.
