Thomas F. Costa
Managing Director & General Manager, Equity and Fixed Income Clearance and Settlement Group

 THOMAS F. COSTA is Managing Director and General Manager, Equity and Fixed Income Clearance and Settlement Group, for The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). He was named to this position in 2005. His extensive experience in securities clearance and settlement across all product groups, and his expertise in Government securities in particular, have helped the organization bring an innovative range of services to the market, including repurchase agreements and General Collateral Finance (GCF) repurchase agreements, two of the fasting growing segments within the fixed-income market.

Mr. Costa formerly served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC), which was created in January 2003 following the merger of the Government Securities Clearing Corporation (GSCC) and the Mortgage-Backed Securities Clearing Corporation (MBSCC). Prior to becoming President and COO of FICC, Mr. Costa was President of both GSCC and MBSCC. He started his years of service at GSCC when the company was created in 1986.

Mr. Costa joined a DTCC predecessor firm, National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), now a DTCC subsidiary, in 1984 as Vice President.  He came to NSCC from the National Association of Securities Dealers, which he joined in 1975. 

Mr. Costa holds a BA degree in Accounting and Economics from Queens College.
