Raj Mahajan is global head of the Goldman Sachs’ systematic client franchise. Previously, he was co-head of Securities Division Engineering. Before that, Raj was global head of Equities Electronic Execution Services. He first joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 as an analyst in the firm’s commodities business and rejoined the firm as a partner in 2015.

Prior to rejoining the firm, he served as chief executive officer of Allston Trading, a Chicago-based market making firm. Earlier in his career, he was president of global trading at SunGard, which he joined in 2004 after the firm acquired Kiodex, the commodities trading technology company that Raj co-founded in 2000.

A recipient of a Ford Foundation Fellowship, Mahajan earned an MPA with an emphasis on Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
