DiversityInc. magazine recognized DTCC on its 2006 list of "Top 10 Companies for Asian-Americans." We were selected for ongoing efforts to strengthen diversity within our company, as well as for our long-term commitment in developing, promoting and recruiting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
DTCC was also honored by the National Minority Business Council (NMBC) for our outstanding record in corporate citizenship and commitment to diversity. As a recipient of the coveted "Outstanding Corporate Supplier Diversity Award," we are proud to celebrate our many valuable relationships with small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
In 2006, Jill M. Considine, then DTCC Chairman & CEO, received this highest of awards from The Global Six Sigma Awards program, which has been established to identify outstanding organizational success achieved through the application of Six Sigma methodologies. Judges were impressed by her "personal championship of Six Sigma within DTCC, ensuring that Six Sigma was embedded within daily operations as well as the organizational culture."
This internationally recognized assessment from Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI) was awarded to our Applications Development and Maintenance (ADM) information technology division in 2006. The group, which is responsible for developing, managing and testing all software used by DTCC and its subsidiaries, was certified for achieving rigorous standards in Process Management, Project Management, Engineering and Support.
DTCC Deriv/SERV was proud to receive the 2006 Operational Risk & Compliance Achievement Award for "Best Back Office Risk Reduction," as selected by OpRisk & Compliance magazine. This niche award recognizes excellence and innovation in the development of technology and tools that help firms manage risk and mitigate potential loss. Deriv/SERV was chosen based on its pioneering role in the automated processing of over-the-counter derivatives.
In 2005, DTCC achieve the Operations Management "Best Utility Technology Award" for our advancement of automated OTC derivatives processing. We were noted for our commitment to increasing automation rates in response to the needs of the OTC derivatives community, as well as for our success in rapidly growing the DTCC customer base. The award is part of the publication's fourth annual Dream Team, which recognizes top-notch financial industry operational efforts during the year.
DTCC received the 2005 Florida Governor's Business Diversification Award, for the impact our Tampa Bay facility has made on the community and the state. We were recognized in the "newcomer" category, and selected by Governor Jeb Bush for being "an exemplary business, giving back to the community and employing one of the most diverse workforces in the region."
Financial professionals on five continents chose DTCC to be the "Best Corporate Actions Solutions Provider" in an annual ranking poll conducted by Waters Magazine. This is our second consecutive win as number one in the delivery of high quality, timely and accurate corporate action information via our Global Corporate Action (GCA) Validation Service, which authenticates corporate trading activity in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.
DTCC was one of 11 companies worldwide to receive the 2004 Computerworld "21st Century Achievement Award," which recognizes innovative and visionary application of information technology. We were selected out of 250 companies from 26 countries, winning for our use of technology in implementing a business continuity strategy. This award reflects our work in creating long-distance, automatic asynchronous data replication capabilities and RDC capacity more than 1,000 miles from the New York financial markets and exchanges.
