When DTCC Completes the Reengineering of its Corporate Actions Processing Systems, Will You Be Ready?

DTCC is redesigning the systems that support all its corporate actions processing. The new corporate actions platform, called the SOURCE (Securities Origination, Underwriting & Reliable Corporate action Environment), will reduce costs and risk, introduce straight-through processing capabilities and provide greater flexibility for processing U.S. and global securities. If you’re to keep pace with the redesign and its implementation, you should start thinking about the following important questions:

  1. Did you know all corporate action-related CCF files that either you or your service provider might be taking from DTCC will be replaced with either ISO or XML messages?
  2. 2. Are your systems and operational processes dependent on DTC function codes? Do you know these will be replaced with a new event structure?
  3. Are you aware of DTCC’s transition plan for the new system? Do you have resources aligned to make the necessary system changes?
  4. Did you know that the new system will produce a standard unique corporate action event identifier for all events and use it for the entire corporate action lifecycle?
  5. Did you know that the user interface for the new system will only be browser-based GUI technology and will replace all of the existing corporate action-related PTS and PBS functions?
  6. Did you know that DTCC will no longer produce a cash rate, instead providing a gross rate with fees and tax rates separate?
