ISO 20022 Message Specifications

DTCC will announce Corporate Actions using the ISO 20022 (MX) Corporate Action Message format, the 15022 compatible subset (seev.xxx.002.xx.). These messages have an embedded extension component which DTCC will utilize for the data elements not already included in the ISO messages.

Product and Packages Overview SR 2011 (xls): DTCC ISO Announcement and Cancellation Message documentation and schema summary that identifies which schema's DTCC participants and clients should select based upon their preference.

Announcement and Cancellation folders contain documentation and DTCC supplementary data (extensions) schemas in separate folders as explained in Product and Packages Overview SR 2011. There are 2 types of files:

1. Message Implementation Guideline, a .pdf document that presents the logical layout of the message schema. There are separate documents per schema: for ISO ‘core’ standard message and for supplementary data, extension, that plugs into the standard message. The document shows only the elements that will be used in the message, and applies DTCC market practice around each element e.g. definitions, DTCC synonyms (DTCC names of the elements used in browser and Data Dictionary)
2. DTCC extension schema. A plain xsd schema that ‘plugs’ into the standard message.

Please note that schemas for the standard ISO MX messages can be found on www.swift.com.

Enriched schemas are also available for all components (standard and extension) through SWIFT.

This documentation presents Corporate Actions Messages Specifications for ISO 20022. It is intended as an implementation overview for both technical and business experts.

DTCC will use the ISO 20022 Corporate Actions Message format for its Corporate Actions processing messages suite (entitlements, instructions, payments, etc). These messages have an embedded extension component which DTCC will utilize for the data elements not already included in the ISO messages.

• Corporate Actions Scenario Documents (8.60MB, .zip) (Updated March 1, 2012) - This document provides detailed mapping of the new DTCC event types to DTC function/activity codes, and GCA VS event types, by way of event specific scenarios.
• Corporate Actions Events Dictionary and Data Elements Dictionary (296 KB, .zip) (Updated October 19, 2011) - These documents list the ISO 20022 event types, as well as the ISO 20022 published data fields and mapping back to DTC function codes, GCA event types and ISO 15022 values.

Legacy Mappings

• Legacy Data Files (194KB, .pdf) (Updated December 31, 2010) - This table provides a list of DTCC legacy files impacted by the corporate actions reengineering project. Included in the table are the associated new ISO 20022 messages and within which phase they will be available.
• Mapping Legacy to DTCC New Model (780KB, .zip) (Updated July 13, 2010) - The Legacy File Mapping documentation provides mapping of data fields from legacy files to the corresponding data fields in the New Event Model. This can then be used to derive where the data reside in ISO 20022 message structure.
