New York, December 18, 2000 -- Richard J. O'Brien, a resident of Pompton Plains, N.J., was honored earlier this month by The Wall Street Employment Managers' Association for the leadership role he has played in the field of Human Resources. O'Brien is managing director, Human Resources for The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).

The DTCC executive is a past chairman of the Wall Street Human Resources Directors' Association. During his service as chairman of that group, Mr. O'Brien initiated a mentoring program that gave New York City public school students insights into the educational training and skills sought by Manhattan-based brokerages and commercial banks.

He earned his bachelor's degree from St. Peter's College and an MBA from Pace University.

In addition, he graduated from Duke University's Strategic Human Resources Management Program and is a certified financial planner. O'Brien's civic affiliations include membership on the Board of Trustees at the American Foundation for the Blind. He and his wife, Patricia, have three children.

The Wall Street Employment Managers' Association is comprised of HR executives at some of New York City's leading financial institutions.
