Canadian Link Service - New Files-May 4, 2009 (3:44)
The Canadian-Link Services, which went into operation in 2005, support the processing and settlement of transactions in Canadian dollars at The Depository Trust Company, a DTCC subsidiary. During the month of April, 2009, DTCC is introducing two new CSHFG* function files which will allow CCF and CCF-II users to retrieve their Dividend/Reorganization Cash Foreign Currency Settlement records throughout the business day using new individual functions.

New Settlement Progress Payment Return Process - April 8, 2009 (4:45)

DTC's Settlement Progress Payment (SPP) reversal process will be made more flexible, allowing participants to request a portion of their available SPP credits in addition to being able to request the full amount. DTC will also create a single function encompassing the SPP return and the Principal and Interest withdrawal processes. These enhancements will simplify the SPP return/P&I withdrawal process and facilitate participants' ability to withdraw funds intraday. The anticipated effective date for the new functionality is May 7, 2009, subject to SEC approval.

 

Increasing the Resources of the Depository Trust Company - SEC Approval of Rule Change SR-DTC-2008-12 - February 27, 2009 (3:33)

On February 27th, 2009, the SEC approved DTC's rule change to increase DTC's liquidity resources to $3.2 billion and limit the aggregate Net Debit Cap of an Affiliated Family to $3 billion. The required DTC Participants Fund will increase from $.6 billion to $1.3 billion, with the additional $700 million in Participants Fund being allocated only to those families whose aggregate Net Debit Cap exceeds DTC's current liquidity of $2.3 billion. SEC Approval Of DTCC's Security Holder Tracking Service - February 5, 2009 (2:47)

On December 18th, 2008, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) approved DTC's rule filing SR-DTC-2008-11. This approval establishes a new DTC service - the "Security Holder Tracking Service." This podcast explains the benefits of this new service - available for immediate use - for issuers. Presented by James Gilchrist, DTCC Learning.

New Deliver Order Reason Codes for OCC Stock Loan Service- January 6, 2009 (3:10)

On December 23, 2008, The Depository Trust Company filed a rule change with the Securities and Exchange Commission proposing to provide The Options Clearing Corporation with settlement services for stock loan transactions entered into under the OCC ’s proposed Market Loan Program. Effective January 23, 2009, The Depository Trust Company will create four new reason codes to support the pending new stock lending service offered by the Options Clearing Corporation. This podcast discusses the codes and the ramifications of the rule change. Presented by James Gilchrist, DTCC Learning.

Expanded Debit Cap Look-Ahead Processing Has Been Revised - December 5, 2008 (2:38)

Effective December 5th, 2008, DTC has expanded its current Debit Cap Look-Ahead Processing functionality to include Money Market Instruments Maturity Presentments.
In order to further reduce blockage in the system and to improve the timeliness and certainty of transactions completing, DTC's Look-Ahead capability goes beyond same CUSIP pairs and allows MMI Issuance Deliveries pending for a custodian's or dealer's debit cap to pair-off against MMI Maturity Presentments pending for an issuing or paying agent's debit cap. Enhancement of the Issuer/Participant Number System - November 21, 2008 (2:55)

DTC announces enhancements to be made to the Issuer/Participant Number (IPN) system, including: systemic monitoring of collateral received in participant accounts; expansion of the IPN system to include all security types associated with participants; and linking all participant account securities related to IPN in order to withhold appropriate collateral values. SMART/Track for Buy-ins CNS Reporting Enhancement - November 13, 2008 (3:47)

Users of SMART/Track for Buy-ins will be able to view updated buy-in activity from NSCC's Continuous Net Settlement System online. Previously, this information was distributed only in print image reports and machine readable output.

Transactions in Foreign Securities - September 30, 2008 (2:18)

Effective September 15, 2008, The Depository Trust Company (DTC) implemented a procedure to allow participants to deliver "Foreign Securities" between DTC participants, i.e., intra-DTC deliver orders.

Proposed Rule Change  Debit Cap (Looking Ahead) - September 30, 2008 (3:07)

The purpose of DTC’s Look-Ahead process is to reduce the number of recycling transactions in the system caused by the Net Debit Cap Risk Management Control. In order to further reduce the number of recycling transactions in the system and to improve the timeliness and certainty of transactions completing, DTC is proposing to expand the Look-Ahead process beyond same securities for MMIs.

Security Holder Tracking Service - September 30, 2008 (4:14)

This podcast introduces the Security Holder Tracking Service which allows a third party administrator to track the number of beneficial holders of an issue.

DTC's Canadian Dollar Settlement Service - August 20, 2008 (2:09)
