Emerging Women Leaders is a seven-month program for Senior Associate women at DTCC. The program is focused on developing key leadership competencies such as self-awareness, executive presence, strategic network creation and strengthening their business acumen, decision-making and conflict management and career management skills Throughout the program, participants will be challenged to grow through a dynamic combination of on-the-job learning experiences, exposure and education.
In response to business demand, the 2022 program increased its cohort size to 43 participants from an average of 25 participants in the previous years.
Prachee Kale, Sponsor of the Emerging Women Leaders Program says; ‘‘As a company, we recognize that investing in women’s growth will create a strong and diverse leadership pipeline contributing to our company’s long-term growth and our world.
A program like EWL is a huge boost for women at this important career and life stage, designed to help them supercharge their results and learn to integrate and proactively manage their life and careers, so they can advance to senior leadership roles and live a fulfilling life.’’
DTCC’s Emerging Women Leader program, which has been running for three years is aimed at early and accelerated development of high-performing Senior Associate women of all backgrounds. Furthermore, it is intended to establish a strong pipeline of women moving towards senior leadership levels - a commitment captured in our corporate goals: diversity index and strategic priorities of our DTMA team (Diverse Talent Management Advancement).
According to McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace study, a significant trend that is seen every year is a gap in women representation (predominantly minority women) at the first step up to management level. Commonly referred to as the “broken rung,” the program aims to address this gap at DTCC, by focusing on strengthening its pipeline of emerging women leaders through the program.
