The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation will be well represented at Sibos 2016, speaking at four sessions and having several key executives take part in the conference that runs September 26-29 in Geneva.
The theme of Sibos 2016 is “Transforming the Landscape.” Program topics include globalization, competition, innovation and disruptive technologies. In the past, Sibos has attracted 8,000 attendees within financial services from a range of specialized areas – from financial institutions to market infrastructures, to technology firms.

DTCC has been a long-time participant and this year’s event continues that tradition. Delegates in attendance can stop by DTCC’s stand (E47) to discuss industry issues or to learn more about DTCC products and services – from its core businesses to data solutions.
This year, four DTCC executives will be speaking on panels. They include:
- Stephen Scharf, Managing Director & Chief Security Officer, (Cyber Security panel)
- Robert Palatnick, Managing Director and Chief Technology Architect, (Blockchain panel)
- Mark Davies, Managing Director, DTCC Europe and General Manager, Avox Data Services, (Reference Data panel)
- Dan Thieke, Managing Director, General Manager, Settlement and Asset Services, (Standards panel)
Other delegates from DTCC in attendance will include Mark Wetjen, Managing Director, Head of Global Public Policy; Dan Cohen, Executive Director, Relationship Management, EMEA; Lilia Tira, Executive Director, DTCC Euroclear Global Collateral; and Tony Freeman, Executive Director, Industry Relations.
SWIFT, which provides secure messaging for global financial services firms, hosts Sibos. What began as a banking operations seminar in 1978, is now one of the most well-known financial services conferences. Sibos focuses on payments, securities, cash management and trade.
