Need to better use or understand products and services offered by The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)? Looking to gain a wider perspective on DTCC’s role in the financial services industry? If so, then the 2016 Client Learning Roadshow is for you.
The dates for this year’s Roadshow have just been released by DTCC Learning, which runs educational programs for clients. Beginning May 16 and 17 in Chicago, DTCC will begin an eight-city Roadshow to educate users about a variety of products. The two-day, instructor-led courses are held at client sites in select cities and at DTCC’s Dallas, Tampa and Jersey City offices. The Roadshow will also tour these cities: Boston, St. Louis, Vancouver and Toronto.
The Roadshow started in 2014 with courses offered at DTCC’s Jersey City and Tampa offices. The concept proved so popular that it was expanded to St. Louis, Chicago, Toronto and Vancouver in 2015. The program will again be expanded this year with the addition of stops in Boston and Dallas.
New to the Roadshow in 2016 is the chance for attendees to earn a DTCC Learning Certification in mortgage-backed securities, corporate actions and clearance and settlement. DTCC Learning Certification is a credential that documents the achievement of a standard of excellence in processing transactions using the services of DTCC’s subsidiaries. Certification is being offered at a reduced cost during the scheduled Roadshow offerings. To learn more about certification, email [email protected].
The following sessions will be available:
- Securities Industry and DTCC
- Reducing Risk Through Our Subsidiaries
- Overview of Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) (Certification Available)
- Overview of Clearance (NSCC) and DTC Settlement (Certification Available)
- Overview of Corporate Actions (Certification Available)
There is no charge for clients to attend the sessions. Registration is mandatory and on a first-come, first serve basis. Past Roadshows have hit capacity, typically between 40 and 50 attendees per class, Islam said. In previous years demand has stretched classroom capacity, additional sessions have been added. Still, Islam suggested registering early to guarantee a seat.
“The Roadshows allow us to educate clients so that they are utilizing DTCC solutions in the most efficient way possible,” said Kaliym Islam, Executive Director, DTCC Learning. “The events also offer us the opportunity to capture the voice of the customer, so that we can develop additional solutions that meet their needs.”
