An audience of nearly 500 financial industry professionals gathered at the 2016 DTCC Blockchain Symposium held at the Grand Hyatt New York on Tuesday, March 29. These financial industry executives, technology experts and policy makers focused their discussion on the business applications of blockchain and distributed ledger technology for financial market infrastructures. Blythe Masters, CEO, Digital Asset Holdings and J. Christopher Giancarlo, Commissioner, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, were among the thought leaders presenting at the Symposium. The panel discussions featured a wide range of speakers on a broad mix of topics, including the risk implications of blockchain and how blockchain compares to other disruptive technologies, among others.
