Senior executives from The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) were honored with a Markets Media 2017 Women in Finance award during a ceremony held on November 7 in Manhattan.

Susan Cosgrove, DTCC Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, was presented with the Individual Achievement award, and Ann Bergin, DTCC Managing Director and General Manager, Wealth Management Services, was given the Excellence in Wealth Management award.

Cosgrove leads DTCC’s global finance and treasury teams and oversees the company’s financial processes and liquidity and capital position. Cosgrove is a member of DTCC’s Management Committee and co-chairs the firms’ Investment and Operating Committee She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for DTCC’s DerivSERV and Omgeo businesses and PENCIL, a not for profit organization leading collaboration between business and public education communities.

Cosgrove was selected for her work to “balance resiliency and flexibility in managing difficult circumstances that require persistence and resolve, all while being the best leader she can be, constantly elevating the way she thinks and driving accountability for herself and her team,” according to Markets Media.

“True leaders inspire their staff and foster a collaborative environment where people can do their best work and thrive, delivering innovation and exceeding goals,” Cosgrove said. “I am honored to receive this award and be part of such an amazing group of inspirational leaders.”

Bergin is responsible for a business portfolio that supports domestic and global mutual funds, insurance and alternative investment products. An active member of both the Investment Company Institute (ICI) and the SIFMA Private Clients Operations Committee, Bergin also gives back to her community as a board member of HEART 911, a non-profit focused on helping communities respond, rebuild and recover from disasters.

Bergin was recognized for “leading a team that develops the right solutions that allow firms to align on needs, standardize processes and benefit from greater automation,” according to Markets Media.

One such example was her work around the alternative investment (AI) community. Working with a targeted client group, Bergin and her team developed a suite of services to automate and streamline the processing of AI products, helping user community become more scalable and efficient across a range of important metrics.

“The challenge is providing the industry with the right solutions that enable greater standardization and efficiency so that clients can succeed and stay ahead of a constantly evolving regulatory, political and economic environment,” Bergin said. “That is why I share this honor with my colleagues because it is their hard work and collaborative spirit that has driven such positive change.”
