DTCC Managing Director and Chief Information Officer, Lynn Bishop, was honored with a Markets Media 2020 Women in Finance Award during a virtual ceremony held on December 3. She was presented with the Trailblazer award, which recognizes high-performing women who broke the gender barrier in career advancement.
In her role as CIO, Bishop oversees a global team of 3,500, providing critical technology capabilities that power DTCC’s range of systemically important products and services. She has held a number of senior executive roles in Information Technology, including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Development Officer, and now Chief Information Officer.
Bishop was selected for her impressive tenure at DTCC, serving as an influential and driving force behind key strategic IT initiatives while also guiding DTCC’s technology decisions around the adoption of new, emerging technologies such as distributed ledger technology, cloud computing, robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Bishop said, “I am fortunate to work at a company which creates opportunities each and every day to develop creative and innovative solutions for the industry.”
As an active champion for diversity and inclusion, Bishop supports the internal enterprise talent programs women, as well as the Women’s Initiative for Networking and Success employee resource group. Beyond DTCC, she serves as the senior sponsor for DTCC’s partnership with Girls Who Code, a national nonprofit that concentrates on closing the gender gap in STEM education. In her role with Girls Who Code, Bishop connects with students with an early interest in STEM, coordinates programming between DTCC and the organization, and is an advocate for future female leaders in the field.
