Conversation with the New President and CEO

Michael Bodson, DTCC’s new President and CEO, recently visited the company’s office in Tampa, Fla. His agenda included meeting with local business leaders and officials.

Bodson reinforced DTCC’s commitment to the community and talked about plans to expand the company’s presence in Tampa. He recognized the area as a “natural fit” for financial services for reasons such as the local talent pool, which includes a large veteran population from the MacDill Air Force Base, whose expertise in information security is a highly valued competency at DTCC.

Tampa Mayor Robert Buckhorn greeted Bodson in a prerecorded message. The mayor, noting that he tells the DTCC story everywhere he goes, said, “It’s about a company that believed in a community, saw what the future looked like and wanted to be a part of it.”

DTCC has made a strong commitment to corporate citizenship in Tampa, support-ing 11 nonprofits that offer a wide range of services. Tampa-based employees donated more than $100,000 to the United Way in 2011, putting DTCC among the top-10 contributing financial companies in the region. As Eric Miller, DTCC Managing Director and Head of the Tampa office, said, “Although we process more than $1 quadrillion in transactions each year, some of our most important work has nothing to do with money.”

Bodson also met with Tampa-based journalists to raise awareness of DTCC in the region and addressed the company’s more than 500 employees.
