Michael Bodson, DTCC President and CEO, ranks 15th among top leaders in global financial markets, according to Institutional Investor’s "2014 Tech 50: Moving out of the Lab and Into the Cloud," Institutional Investor’s annual ranking that recognizes the top 50 executives in financial technology.
Bodson, who has been included on the Institutional Investor list for three straight years, was recognized in 2014 for his "big-picture perspective on critical industry matters," specifically, DTCC’s leadership role in advancing an initiative to shorten the settlement cycle to T+2 for the US capital markets. The magazine also recognized Bodson for DTCC’s collaboration with the financial industry and the public and private sectors to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
According to Institutional Investor, the Tech 50 ranking weighs nominations and input from industry participants and experts and uses four sets of attributes to create the annual rankings: achievements and contributions over the course of a career; scope and complexity of responsibilities; influence and leadership inside and outside the organization; and pure technological innovation.
"I am honored to be included among a list of such accomplished, well-respected financial technology leaders and innovators," Bodson said. "This recognition is a reflection of the critical work performed every day by our global team to mitigate risk, reduce costs and increase transparency for the financial industry."
