GTR’s Re-Architectured Platform
Under the Global Trade Repository's (GTR’s)1 original design concept, a single repository per asset class would be used for trade reporting across multiple jurisdictions as new regulations were adopted. But the regulatory landscape evolved such that mandates were not harmonized and were required to be separate across jurisdictions and traded products, rendering the single-template approach unworkable and leading DTCC to establish multiple trade repositories (TRs) in jurisdictions around the world.
Through a re-architecture initiative launched in 2017, DTCC is simplifying the GTR structure by creating a platform and infrastructure that can function across jurisdictions and products while supporting jurisdictional nuances and differences in each of DTCC’s TRs. The re-architecture has been implemented in Europe and the APAC region and implementation will be completed in North America and Japan in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
The re-architecture has also improved the GTR service portal in ways that transform the client experience, giving it user-friendly, self-service capabilities, a simplified and more-intuitive interface, and features that can smoothly integrate other DTCC solutions into clients’ trade lifecycle-management workflow.
