Georges Lauchard
Georges Lauchard is Barclays' Investment Bank’s Chief Operating Officer (IBCOO).
He is a member of the COO Executive Committee (COO ExCo) and the IB’s Management Team
Georges is focused on driving strategic transformation and modernisation initiatives, leveraging AI and analytics to enhance operational efficiency, decision-making, and client delivery, whilst ensuring scalability, agility, and resilience. A key priority is alignment of technology with strategic goals to optimise operations, support growth, and drive business outcomes across the IB.
Georges joined Barclays in July 2022 and was previously the IB’s COO for Global Markets and Wholesale Lending, where he led technology, operations and controls across the franchise.
Prior to Barclays, Georges served as Euronext Group COO and CEO of Euronext Technologies and was a Board Member of MTS Markets. He led technology and operations strategies, policies, and execution, driving critical transformation projects to support the firm’s acquisition-led, rapid growth, such as acquirement of the Italian Stock Exchange, Borsa Italiana.
Georges spent more than two decades at J.P. Morgan, having joined their Futures and Options division in 1996. He went on to hold several senior leadership positions in London and Hong Kong across business management, technology, operations, finance, and controls, before assuming the role of COO for Global Corporate and Investment Bank Technology.
Georges began his career in the Emerging Markets division for BNP Paribas in New York.
