Mutual Fund Services: Become an NSCC Member or Add Services
In order to utilize DTCC's Mutual Fund Services, participants are required to be members of National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC). NSCC is committed to serving the growing needs of all of its customers. Applicants are asked to satisfy reasonable requirements in order to ensure the financial integrity of the system.

Membership Types
Member
A Member, also generally referred to as a full service Member, may generally access all services made available by NSCC, including the Mutual Fund Services.
Limited Member Types – Mutual Fund Services
Fund Member
Participates in NSCC’s Mutual Fund Services, acting as a mutual fund’s: 1) principal underwriter, 2) co-distributor, 3) sub-distributor, or 4) an entity that is otherwise authorized to process transactions on behalf of a mutual fund. Membership is available to any qualified and approved:
- Investment Adviser
- Broker/Dealer
- Investment company or other regulated pooled investment entity
- Insurance Company
- Bank or Trust
Mutual Fund/Insurance Services Member
Firm Members
Participates in NSCC’s Mutual Fund Services and Insurance and Retirement Processing Services. Membership is available to any qualified and approved:
- Broker/Dealer
- Clearing agency
- Investment company or other regulated pooled investment entity
- Insurance Company or insurance agency
- Bank or Trust
Third Party Administrator Member
- Participates in NSCC’s Mutual Fund Services for the purpose of communicating order, redemption or other information on behalf of a retirement or other benefit plan.
Data Services Only Member
- Participates solely in the transmission of data and information, and may utilize only those features of services that NSCC may, from time to time, expressly designate.
Settling Bank Only Member
- Undertakes to perform settlement services with respect to transactions or matters on behalf of Members, Fund Members, Mutual Fund/Insurance Services Members and Insurance Carrier/Retirement Services Members.
