Brian Steele

Managing Director, President, Clearing & Securities Services

Brian Steele is Managing Director, President, Clearing & Securities Services at DTCC where he is responsible for leading the firm’s clearing and securities services businesses, including Equity Clearing and Settlement, Fixed Income Clearing, Wealth Management Services, Asset Services, Institutional Trade Processing (ITP) and Repository & Derivatives Services (RDS). He is a member of the DTCC Executive Committee, Management Risk Committee and the Investment Management Committee. In addition, he serves as Chair of the ITP Board of Managers, Chair of the Deriv Serv Board, is a board member of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA) and participates as a member of the World Economic Forum Steering Committee.

Brian has nearly 20 years of experience in financial services, serving in a wide range of senior-level roles including Goldman Sachs, where he most recently served as Managing Director of Americas Client Coverage Group and Global Head of Client & Market Solutions. Prior to that, he served as a senior leader in several key global markets and operations-related roles, including Global Head of Market Structure Solutions; Global Head of Equities Execution Services and Settlements; Global Head of Digital Transformation for the Operations Division, and Global Head of Market Solutions for Operations Division.

In addition to his work at DTCC, Brian also served as a board member for Acadia, Traiana, Access Fintech and Droit. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree of Science in Marketing and E-commerce from the Ithaca College.

Nadine Chakar

Managing Director, Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets

Nadine Chakar serves as Managing Director, Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets where she oversees the firm’s digital asset technology (formerly Securrency), partnering with clients and key stakeholders to transform and evolve their operating models and create new digital asset services. She is also member of the DTCC Executive Committee.

Prior to DTCC, Nadine was Chief Executive Officer at Securrency, a provider of institutional-grade digital asset technology that was acquired by DTCC in October 2023. Before that, she was Executive Vice President and Head of State Street Digital, where she oversaw the setup of a new integrated business and operating model to support clients’ entire digital investment cycle from pre-trade, trade, and post-trade, as well as initiatives to enhance client experience. Previously, Nadine served as Executive Vice President and Head of State Street Global Markets and also held roles with Manulife and BNY Mellon.

During her career, Nadine has received a number of awards, including in 2023 as one of American Banker’s most influential women in Fintech and in 2020, 2021 and 2022 as one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Finance. In 2022, she was also recognized as one of Forbes Magazine’s 50 over 50.

Nadine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from Boston University. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Boston Medical Center and is a member of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) and co-chair of the Digital Asset Subcommittee workstream covering Tokenization Infrastructure.

Michalis Sotiropoulos

Head of Government Relations, EMEA

Michalis Sotiropoulos heads Government Relations in Europe, Middle East and Africa for DTCC.

He is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating the firm's regulatory and policy strategy across the EMEA region and has been running the DTCC’s Brussels office since 2011. Michalis represents the firm before policymakers, supervisors and industry, having the oversight of DTCC’s overall policy and regulatory activity on capital markets, clearing and settlement, trade reporting, operational resilience and data flows. He is a thought leader in capital markets and a recognized expert on post trade, digital assets and resilience.

Michalis is an occasional Visiting Lecturer in several European Universities and is fluent in English, French and Greek.

Prior to this, Michalis has worked for a top tier policy advisory in Brussels, a couple of political think tanks and the European Commission.

A Greek and Belgian national, Michalis has academic degrees in international politics and political economy from UK, US and Greek universities.

Gloria Lio

Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Services

Gloria Lio serves as Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Services at DTCC where she is responsible for developing the organization’s strategy to serve as a proactive driver of value to the business and a strategic partner to the industry. Within this role, Gloria leads new opportunities to maximize the value of the firm’s shared services and functions, such as Enterprise Business and Client Operations, both internally and for the benefit of DTCC’s clients and the industry. Gloria recently introduced new functions within Enterprise Services as the organization takes on a broader role in elevating the firm, including Enterprise Data Solutions, the Enterprise Resiliency Office and Enterprise Digital Solutions. Gloria is also a member of the DTCC Executive Committee.

In addition, Gloria’s responsibilities include oversight of the DTCC Regional Administrative Management Group, which is comprised of regional leadership teams and provides consistent sharing of best practices across all offices globally. Additionally, she is actively engaged with DTCC’s Employee Resource Groups and is a strong advocate for mentorship, participating in both internal and external mentorship programs. Gloria’s work was recognized in 2025, when she received Ascend’s A-List Award for her impact within the industry as well as her commitment to the advancement of others. She also serves as a Borough of Manhattan Community College Board Member.

Gloria has over 25 years of experience in financial services, serving in several senior-level roles including at BNY Mellon, where she was Global Head of Custody and Middle Office Operations. Prior to that, Gloria spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where she held several global and regional operational-related leadership roles.

Gloria earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University.
