Sharon Biran

Managing Director and Chief Client Officer, DTCC

Sharon Biran serves as Managing Director and Chief Client Officer at DTCC, where she leads the firm’s global client management and engagement strategy, including sales, relationship management, partners, and marketing and communications. She also leads the firm’s enterprise-level businesses, DTCC Consulting Services and Data Services, as well as DTCC’s Report Hub. In addition, Sharon is a member of the DTCC Executive Committee.

Sharon has over 25 years of senior leadership experience in financial services overseeing strategic client relationships, managing complex global transformation programs and leading large-scale change initiatives aimed at improving operational resilience and organizational effectiveness.

Before DTCC, she served as Managing Director and Global Account Leader at Accenture, where she led some of the firm’s largest and most complex banking and capital markets client relationships. Prior to her 13 years with Accenture, she spent 15 years with UBS and JP Morgan Chase in a variety of executive roles, including leading regulatory change programs and driving technology and operations transformation efforts.

David Kirby

Managing Director, Global Head of Origination, DTCC Consulting Services

David Kirby is Managing Director, Global Head of Origination for DTCC Consulting Services. He is responsible for spearheading business development efforts and driving collaboration across all client-facing teams globally. The primary focus is on advancing DTCC’s Consulting Service offerings to meet the evolving needs of the financial services industry.

Previously, David served as Global Head of Bank and Broker/Dealer Coverage at DTCC. Within this role, he led DTCC’s Global Account Management team within Relationship Management and oversaw all top-tier clients across the broker-dealer and custody segment with a focus on expanding relationships across the C-Suite and key decision makers. He has also held the role of Executive Director, Americas Relationship Management & Global Account Management at DTCC where he was responsible for managing strategic client activities across all DTCC’s businesses.

David joined DTCC in 2013. Prior to that, he worked as a Managing Director and Co-Founder of, PolicyTrac Technologies, a startup technology firm focused on the development of insurance trading and case management platforms. He also held key managerial positions within the Infomediary and Client Services divisions at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.

David has over 25 years of experience in the financial and technology industry with expertise in global relationship management and sales, custom application design and development, trade management systems, and business development. David graduated with a BBS in Marketing from the University of Miami.

Laura Klimpel

Managing Director, Head of DTCC's Fixed Income and Financing Solution

Laura Klimpel serves as Managing Director and Head of DTCC’s Fixed Income and Financing Solutions within the firm’s Clearing & Securities Services businesses. In her role, Laura oversees the firm’s Treasury, Mortgage-Backed Securities and Secured Funding products and services.

Prior to her current role, Laura has held various business and legal positions within the DTCC complex, including acting as General Counsel for New York Portfolio Clearing, LLC (NYPC). Before that, Laura spent three years at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, focusing primarily on US commodities and derivatives regulation.

Laura received her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Truman State University in 1999 and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Cornell University in 2007. She is a member of the New York Bar. Laura is also a member of the Treasury Market Practices Group (TPMG).

Gloria Lio

Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Services, DTCC

Gloria Lio serves as Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Services, at DTCC where she is responsible for developing the organization’s strategy to serve as a proactive driver of value to the business and a strategic partner to our clients. Gloria leads new opportunities to maximize the value of our shared services and functions, such as Enterprise Business and Client Operations, both internally and for the benefit of our clients and the industry. Gloria has recently introduced new functions within Enterprise Services as the organization takes on a broader role in elevating the firm, including Enterprise Data Solutions, the Enterprise Resiliency Office and Enterprise Digital Solutions. Gloria is also a member of the DTCC Executive Committee.

Gloria has recently expanded her responsibilities to include oversight of the DTCC Regional Administrative Management Group, which is comprised of our regional leadership teams and provides consistent sharing of best practices across our offices globally. Additionally, she is actively engaged with our Employee Resource Groups and a strong advocate for mentorship, participating in both internal and external mentorship programs.

Gloria has over 25 years of experience in financial services, serving in a number of senior-level roles including most recently at BNY Mellon, where she was Global Head of Custody and Middle Office Operations. Prior to that, Gloria spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where she held several global and regional operational-related leadership roles.

Gloria earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University.

Frank La Salla

President and Chief Executive Officer, DTCC

Francis (Frank) La Salla is President, CEO and Director of DTCC. He also serves as President and CEO of DTCC’s principal operating subsidiaries, DTC, FICC and NSCC and is a member of the DTCC Executive Committee.

Frank joined DTCC in June 2022 following a 28-year career at BNY, where he held several senior-level positions, including most recently as CEO of its Issuer Services business and a member of the BNY Executive Committee, the senior-most leadership committee at the firm. Earlier in his tenure, he served as CEO of BNY’s Alternative Investment Services and Structured Products business and was a member of the Executive Committee of Pershing LLC, where he was Co-Head of Global Client Relationships and Head of Trading Services. Frank also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of BNY Clearing Services LLC.

Prior to joining BNY, Frank was CEO of BHF Securities Corporation, the U.S. broker-dealer subsidiary of Germany’s BHF Bank AG, and COO of Société Generale Securities, responsible for developing the French financial institution’s U.S. brokerage business.

Frank currently serves as a member of the FDIC’s Systemic Resolution Advisory Committee, which provides counsel on a broad range of issues that impact systemically important financial institutions. Frank is also on the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of New York. From October 2012 to June 2022, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Euroclear SA/NV, the Belgium-based Central Securities Depository, where he served on the Board Risk Committee and the Nominations, Governance and Compensation Committee.

Frank holds numerous industry registrations and is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's Board of Arbitrators. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The City University of New York and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Wagner College. He also holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Fordham University.

Matt Schill

Executive Director, Asset Services, DTCC

Matthew serves as Executive Director for the Asset Services business at DTCC. In this role he is responsible for delivering strategic and new technology initiatives. In his time at DTCC he has held a variety of roles and led significant industry programs, including the corporate actions focus of both the T+1 and T+2 programs, the creation of the CA Web / ISO 20022 interfaces and the launch of the ClaimConnect service. Additionally, Matthew spearheaded the industry solution for the retirement of the LIBOR benchmark and is currently leading the AnnounceDirect initiative to streamline corporate action announcements.

Justin Schwartz

Executive Director, Product Management for Wealth Management Services, DTCC

Justin Schwartz serves as Executive Director of Product Management for Wealth Management Services at DTCC where he is responsible for the Alternative Investment Products (AIP) and Insurance & Retirement Services (I&RS) businesses. Justin has been working on AIP for the past 12 years and previously worked in I&RS before rejoining to lead the team in late 2022. He is an active member on many industry committees, including NICSA, Defined Contribution Alternatives Association (DCALTA), SIFMA AMG, Blue Vault and Insured Retirement Institute (IRI). Justin leads the AIP Roundtable and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA).

Justin has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previous experience at DTCC includes product and relationship management roles where he advanced processing and automation services for equities, corporate actions and derivatives.

He holds a master’s degree in finance from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.

Dan Thieke

Managing Director, Head of the Enterprise Resiliency Office, DTCC

Dan Thieke is Managing Director and Head of the Enterprise Resiliency Office (ERO) for DTCC, responsible for leading the planning, ingestion, management and resolution of all incidents and crises. In addition, Dan oversees continuous improvement of firm-wide enterprise resiliency including processes, governance, people and tooling. He also serves as a member of DTCC’s Investment Management Committee, IT Governance Committee and Employee Benefit Plans Committee.

Prior to this role, Dan served as Managing Director for DTCC’s Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), focused on the overall strategy and program management of the firm’s multi-year modernization effort and before that, as Managing Director and General Manager for Settlement & Asset Services, overseeing the organization’s depository business.

Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and holds a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Michael Winnike

Managing Director, Clearing & Securities Services (CSS) Strategy and Market Solutions, DTCC

Michael Winnike is DTCC’s Managing Director, Clearing & Securities Services (CSS) Strategy and Market Solutions, where he oversees strategic planning across the CSS business. Within this role, he partners across the organization to define strategic objectives, develop a holistic strategy that connects and aligns asset classes and market segments, and leads key enterprise-wide initiatives. In addition, Michael identifies new market opportunities to grow the CSS business and supports the development of innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of DTCC’s clients.

Before DTCC, Michael served as Director, Market Structure within BlackRock's Global Trading organization where he was responsible for influencing and shaping market structure across asset classes and products. This included defining and implementing trading platform enhancements and managing BlackRock's clearing strategy and swap clearing relationships. Prior to this role, Michael was a member of BlackRock’s Prime Brokerage Financing team. Michael began his BlackRock career as a member of the Legal and Compliance Department, providing legal coverage for BlackRock’s derivatives and cash trading platforms.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whitman College.

Val Wotton

Managing Director and General Manager, NSCC, DTC & DTCC Institutional Trade Processing

Valentino (Val) Wotton is Managing Director and General Manager of NSCC’s Equity Clearing, DTC’s Settlement Service and DTCC’s Institutional Trade Processing (ITP). In this role, he oversees equity clearing for trades executed on major U.S. exchanges and other equity trading venues and the central securities depository which completes the transfer between trading parties of securities and cash. He also leads the firm’s global middle-office trade processing solutions, including CTM, ALERT and TradeSuite ID. Working closely with his global team, clients, industry organizations and his peers, Val focuses on setting business strategy, growing and enhancing services, and delivering increased value to clients, enabling them to meet evolving operational, risk and regulatory compliance demands such as global accelerated settlement efforts. Additionally, Val is the Regional Administrative Manager for DTCC EMEA, Chairman of the DTCC EMEA Operating Committee, and a voting member on the DTCC ITP LLC Board. Prior to this role, Val was Managing Director of Product Development and Strategy, Repository and Derivatives Services, where he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s Global Trade Repository (GTR), Trade Information Warehouse (TIW) and Report Hub services.

Before DTCC, Val served as Global Head of Markets, Post-Trade Services and Europe Markets Operations at Barclays, with oversight for all post-trade processing including U.S. and internal securities settlement and asset servicing. Previously, Val held several senior roles at Citigroup.

During his career, Val has served on several Boards and Committees, including DTCC’s Deriv/SERV Board, LCH OTC Deriv Net, and the International Swaps & Derivatives Organization’s (ISDA) Market Infrastructure & Technology Committee (MITOC).

Val holds a Bachelor of Law (with French) degree from Nottingham Trent University.

Bill Kapogiannis

Executive Director, Product Management for Equity Clearing, DTCC

Bill Kapogiannis is an Executive Director in the Equity Clearing Product Management Group at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). In this role, Bill is responsible for the day-to-day management of all core equity clearing products and services including trade capture, asset transfers, ETF’s and fail management. Bill and his team are responsible for developing new offerings and enhancements to existing services to support client needs.

Bill joined NSCC in 1992 and has held various positions within Product Management, Marketing, Relationship Management and Operations during his tenure. Prior to joining NSCC, Bill held various positions in Operations at Dean Witter Reynolds.

Bill has served an Executive Committee Member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Data Management Governing Committee and also previously held a variety of chair positions on a number of industry steering committees.

Bill attended the State University of New York at Oneonta graduating with a B.S. degree in Business Economics. Bill also completed the Securities Industry Institute Wharton Business School program in 2009.

G. Daniel Doney

Managing Director, Chief Technology Officer, DTCC Digital Assets

G. Daniel (Dan) Doney serves as Managing Director, Chief Technology Officer of DTCC Digital Assets, the firm’s institutional-grade, digital asset infrastructure and products (formerly Securrency). DTCC Digital Asset’s products unlock the value of digital assets and advance the industry’s digital transformation journey. Within this role, Dan is responsible for overseeing the technology strategy that underpins the firm’s digital asset products and services while ensuring they evolve in tandem with client and regulatory needs.

Before DTCC, Dan was Chief Technology Officer and Founder of Securrency. As CTO, Dan was the architect of platforms leveraging blockchain to transform financial market infrastructure. This technology is at the core of the first publicly available, regulator approved, US registered funds on the blockchain. Dan authored 4 awarded patents (and 11 pending) to enable secure, compliant, scalable institutional use of blockchain networks.

Prior to founding Securrency, Dan served as the U.S. intelligence community’s first Chief Innovation Officer from 2012-2015. While there, he implemented an aggressive Innovation Strategy, the first of its kind in government, to support the rapid assessment of emerging technology and enhance agency execution agility. His initiatives yielded significant savings, channeled ideas into mission impact, and streamlined the adoption of emerging technology. Dan received the 2014 Federal Fierce 15 award for his work as a change agent in government. He also consulted for the FBI Office of Private Sector executing a mission to help protect private sector entities from Cyber, Criminal, Counterintelligence and Terrorism threats. Dan started his career as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.

A recognized expert in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Enterprise Architecture, Identity and Data Solutions, Dan has been an innovator across a wide variety of fields drawing on his background in social systems, control theory, software engineering, and more. Dan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992 with a B.S. in Control Systems Engineering and an additional major in Economics and received an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from MIT in 1994.
