Jim Hraska is Managing Director, DTCC Consulting Services. Within this role, he helps lead DTCC’s advisory work across U.S. Treasury and Equity market structure transformation, including expanded central clearing, T+1 settlement, optimization of capital, collateral management and liquidity, operating model design and broader regulatory transparency. He serves as a strategic partner and advisor across market participant firms, helping clients navigate significant periods of regulatory, operational and technology change across the industry.
Before this role, Jim served in several leadership positions within the firm’s Clearing & Settlement Services business including Managing Director, Head of Client Solutions, where he led multiple Clearing Agency Services efforts in identifying and delivering new value-added initiatives. These efforts included expanding buy-side participation in FICC clearing services and the development of the NSCC Secured Financing Trade (SFT) service. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and General Manager with FICC. Before DTCC, Jim served as Global Director of Product Management at Barclays, specializing in financing and structural reform.
Jim has over thirty years of experience in the securities industry with deep knowledge in fixed income and equity financing, fixed income and equity cash and derivative products, reinsurance, structured credit products, futures, and global clearance and custody. He is a long-standing member of SIFMA, where he has served as the Government Operations Chair and as a participant in numerous working groups. Jim served as a member of the Treasury Market Practices Group (TMPG) from the group's inception through September 2016, supporting integrity and efficiency in the treasury, agency debt, and agency MBS markets. He was also a senior member of the Fed's Tri-party Reform Task Force, which was responsible for the platform's risk and liquidity improvements over recent years.
