DTCC Receives Multiple Awards from ACORD

By DTCC Connection Staff | November 6, 2020

DTCC was honored by the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD) with the 2020 Industry Contributor Award and Jeanann Smith, Director of Senior Product Management, I&RS was also recognized by clients for her contributions to the ACORD community and the global insurance industry with the ACORD Community 50th Anniversary Award.

DTCC Receives Multiple Awards from ACORD

Smith accepted both awards during a ceremony at the ACORD Connect conference, held virtually last week.

“DTCC has truly shaped the insurance industry over the past 20+ years,” Smith said. “It’s been very exciting to see how DTCC’s involvement – and especially spurring automation and efficiencies -- has helped the insurance business grow and evolve.”

DTCC was singled out for Industry Contributor Award as a result of contributing use cases for ACORD’s digital standards effort. These use cases include the support of the APIs being built within Insurance Information Exchange (IIEX), a new platform rolling out in early 2021 that can transform raw data into actionable insights using an API-enabled environment to consume insurance information.

“I am humbled to receive this award from ACORD,” said Smith. “To be recognized for years of commitment to ACORD, our insurance industry and clients really is an exciting moment for me.”

The ACORD Community 50th award was given to a select number of ACORD members, all of whom demonstrate commitment to the ongoing success of the ACORD community, make an impact at their own organization and have a long, active record of service to the global insurance industry.

“I am proud of the expansive professional network I’ve made with firms, clients and colleagues, many of whom are now my personal friends,” Smith said “The knowledge that everyone has so freely shared over my career has made me into the professional I am today.”
