The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is the Philippines data privacy authority. They are an independent body mandated to administer and implement the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and to monitor and ensure compliance of the country with international standards set for data protection.
The NPC mandated the display of NPC Seal of Registration on respective places of business and online platforms for organizations that process personal data and to enforce the safeguarding of individuals’ privacy and data protection rights. As stated in their Public Advisory dated, November 13, 2023:
“The NPC is committed to ensuring strict compliance with these requirements and will not hesitate to enforce penalties and fines on organizations found in violation. We emphasize the crucial importance of adhering to these guidelines for the protection of individuals’ privacy rights.”
The display of this registration certificate by Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (“DTCC”) is a show of confidence and commitment that we are adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements set forth by the NPC.
